Selling our home . . .

This is Carissa - I am putting this on mom and dad's blog - since they have been really busy with things .. getting their home ready to sell, looking for a new home, MTC calling, and just this past weekend, dad got pneumonia, still has it. They are planning on moving down south, to St. George, where the weather is warmer. It is a bitter-sweet thing everyone has agreed. I will miss having them just minutes away, I think we take things like that for granted, but I also agree it's for the best - they have been supported with all of us kids' decisions in our married lives and where we go with our individual family's . . . I have copied what some of my sisters have said about the move . . .
(from Melinda)I'll miss my childhood house! I think all the girls in our family are very sentimental ... My dad retired this past January and they are ready to move on to missions and smaller sqft. The house I grew up in was the funnest house for a kid to live in ... it started with 9 bedrooms, 5 baths, secret passageways from closets, dumbwaiter, entercom system and all that great stuff. All of which were removed from the house, except the entercom system. That way we never missed any conference no matter where we were hiding in the house, oh, and we could ask our friends who we knew were coming over if it was really them at the front door. Since we've lived there my parents have changed every part of the house except the living room walls. They have added an apartment upstairs. They have added a big family room where a patio used to be. My brother landscaped and it is now so beautiful. As you can see they are stuccoing the outside and getting ready to sell. It's all very sad. So many safe childhood memories are there and it was the center gathering for when all my siblings were in town. It's the best thing for my parents ... Life changes, even when you don't want it to! Thanks for the pictures, Jess.
(from Jessi) I am so sad. It's the place that I grew up & have so many fun memories ... It's actually a pretty sweet house & the yard is awesome. I'm going to be so sad to see it go.
(from Tami) They are planning on moving to Saint George, which I am really excited about! But really sad to see the house that all 10 of us kids were basically raised in. We moved in that house when I was 3 years old. I will really miss the house and memories.
